Privacy Policy
In short
- WoWall is a bookmarking service: you save links to products on other websites and choose whether to share them.
- We do not sell products, handle payments or compare prices. The price you see is only indicative.
- We keep your account, your profile and the bookmarks you save. We do not collect payment data or information about what you buy.
- Your profile is private until you make it public.
- You can download your data and delete your account at any time from “Edit profile”.
1. Data controller
[company name], [registered office], VAT / Tax ID [VAT / Tax ID], PEC [PEC].
Privacy contact: hello@wowall.app.
2. What WoWall is
WoWall lets you save links to products and content on third-party websites, organise them into collections and, if you wish, show them on a public profile. Creators can edit links to add their own affiliate codes. The purchase always happens on the shop’s website: WoWall does not sell, collect payments or ship.

4. Why we process it and on what basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Create and manage your account, send the login code, provide the service | Performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b) |
| Show your profile and bookmarks according to the visibility you choose | Performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b) |
| Update price and image of the products you saved | Performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b) |
| Security, prevention of abuse and fraud, handling reports | Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f) |
| Legal obligations and requests from authorities | Legal obligation (Art. 6.1.c) |
| Usage statistics with Google Analytics | Consent (Art. 6.1.a), which you can withdraw at any time |
5. Prices and product images
Every few hours our servers visit the product page you saved to update price, availability and image. The shop sees our server’s IP address, not yours. The price shown is indicative: it can be old, different by country or currency, or wrong; only the price on the shop’s website counts.
Product images are linked from the shop’s website and are not copied by us: when you open a page, your browser may load them directly from the site that hosts them, which receives the usual technical requests. Images that you upload (profile photo and custom bookmark images) are stored on our servers until deleted.
To learn how to read the pages of a new shop we use an artificial intelligence tool (Claude, by Anthropic). It only receives the address and the public content of the shop page, not our users’ data.
6. Public and private profiles
Every profile starts private. If you make it public, anyone can see your username, photo, bio and the collections and bookmarks you made visible. The profile can also be reached with a share link. For each bookmark you can say whether the link is an affiliate link, sponsored or a gift: the label is visible to anyone viewing the profile.
7. Who receives the data
- Hosting and infrastructure provider: [hosting provider]
- Email delivery service (login codes and service messages): [email provider]
- Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, for Google Analytics, only if you accept statistics cookies
- Judicial or administrative authorities, when the law requires it
We do not sell personal data. Providers process data on our instructions as processors (Art. 28 GDPR).
8. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Some providers, in particular Google, may process data outside the EEA. In that case we rely on a European Commission adequacy decision (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for certified companies) or on standard contractual clauses.
9. How long we keep data
- Account, profile and bookmarks: until you delete the account. Deletion is immediate and removes profile, collections, bookmarks, follows and uploaded images. Copies of your bookmarks made by other users stay with them, no longer linked to your account.
- Backups: overwritten within 90 days; deleted data is not restored.
- Login codes: valid for 10 minutes.
- Technical and security logs: up to 30 days.
- Reports: up to 24 months after closing, unless the law requires otherwise.
- Google Analytics: according to the retention setting chosen (maximum 14 months).
10. Your rights
You can ask for access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability, and object to processing; you can withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
- Download your data: “Edit profile” → “Download my data” (a ZIP with your profile, images and a CSV of your bookmarks).
- Delete your account: “Edit profile” → “Delete account”.
- For any other request write to hello@wowall.app. We answer within 30 days.
- You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) or with the authority of your country.
11. Minimum age
WoWall is for people who are at least 16 years old. If we find an account of a younger person we close it.
12. Chrome extension “WoWall Saver”
- When you open it, it reads from the active tab the URL, title, domain, images and, if present, price and currency, to show you a preview of the bookmark. It does not continuously read other tabs or your browsing history.
- Permissions: activeTab and scripting (read the page you are saving), storage (keep your token and last category), access to wowall.app (send the bookmark).
- When you choose to save, it sends your token, category and the page data to WoWall. It does not sell data or use it for personalised advertising. Use of data received through Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
13. Security
We use HTTPS connections, one-time login codes that expire and have an attempt limit, access controls on data, and we delete data when it is no longer needed. In case of a personal data breach we notify the Italian Data Protection Authority within 72 hours and, when the risk is high, the people concerned.
14. Cookies
See the Cookie Policy.
15. Changes
If we change this policy in a relevant way we will tell you by email or with a notice in the app. The date at the top shows the latest version.
